Upper Wharfedale vicar the Rev Peter Yorkstone is to walk around the boundary of his benefice – to raise money for his parishes.
Joined by friends and parishioners, Peter, vicar of Kettlewell-with-Conistone, Arncliffe with Halton Gill and Hubberholme, will complete the 46-mile walk in four stages.
He said: “We start at Conistone walking clockwise, as close as possible to the parish boundary. The total is about 46 miles with about 12 to 14 miles at each stage.
“There are some steep climbs, rough and wet terrain to be negotiated and some wonderful views.”
It will take place on four consecutive Wednesdays – June 5 (Conistone to Rainscar via), June 12 (Rainscar to Oughtershaw via Penyghent), June 19 (Oughtershaw to Kidstones) and June 26 (Kidstones to Conistone). Each walk will set off at 9am .
The walk, or sections of it, is open to everyone. To help or take part, contact Peter by Monday on 01756 760237 or email peter@pyorkstone. freeserve.co.uk
