POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a suspected burglary took place at Skipton's Gregg's Bakery in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday).
Police were called to the bakery on Sheep Street at just after midnight on Tuesday to investigate reports of a burglary.
During a search of the area, they found a safe in a nearby alleyway.
A 32-year-old man from Lancashire was then arrested in Skipton's High Street at about 12.45am on suspicion of burglary.
A short time later two other men, aged 27 and 32, were found in a Ford Focus on Providence Place and arrested on suspicion of going equipped for burglary, after a crowbar was allegedly found during a search of the vehicle.
The three men remain in police custody for questioning.
Police are continuing to make inquiries in the town centre and are appealing to anyone who may have seen something, or with any information, to contact Harrogate CID on 101, or anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
