FORMER Christians and Yachts songwriter Henry Priestman will make a welcome return to the Craven Arms, Appletreewick, on Saturday.
After a music career spanning 37 years, Henry reinvented himself in 2009, releasing his debut solo CD, The Chronicles of Modern Life, to critical acclaim.
He followed this with up with his second album, The Last Mad Surge of Youth, in February 2014, which he promoted with a video filmed at Settle's Victoria Hall.
Both albums are the sound of a man who’s seen the music world explode from punk (his band Yachts supported the Sex Pistols in ’77, and The Who on European Tour in ’79) via pop (three million albums with The Christians and a top five single for Mark Owen) to the digital age (soundtracks for James Bond/Xbox, BBC’s Wildlife on One and Natural World).
Also taking part in the Craven Arms gig will be Plumhall - Michelle Plum and Nick B Hall, whose self-penned songs have won plaudits from the likes of R2 Magazine, Miles Hunt from The Wonder Stuff and Steve Knightley from Show of Hands.
The pair deliver guitar and harmony driven textures of folk, Americana and pop, and have have been wowing audiences on the live acoustic circuit in the UK.
The gig starts at 7.30pm and tickets are available from wegottickets.com/event/319567
