James Bell, Bishop of Ripon, is due to visit Appletreewick
THE Bishop of Ripon, the Right Rev James Bell, will celebrate Holy Communion at St John’s Church, Appletreewick, on Sunday, at 6pm.
The bishop has been helping to guide parish officials through the appointment of a new associate rector who will work alongside rector David Macha.
Churchwarden Peter Weatherhead is hoping there will be a full church to greet the Bishop.
Born and bred in the Eden Valley, Bishop James has a background of parochial ministry, training and mission and his responsibilities include evangelism, church growth and rural affairs.
