RESCUERS went to the aid of two walkers who got lost coming off Ingleborough towards Horton-in-Ribblesdale on Monday evening.

Members of the Clapham-based Cave Rescue Organisation made mobile phone contact with the walkers - who were in their 30s - and established that they were descending into Chapel-le-Dale from Park Fell.

They were eventually met at the Hill Inn.

Shortly after picking up the two walkers, and as the team vehicle was making its way towards Horton, a police officer flagged the vehicle down and asked members to transport a further two walkers - also in their 30s - back to Horton. They too had gone astray.
