NETBALL-playing children from Kildwick Primary School have won a place in the regional finals of the North Yorkshire School Sports contest.
The year six team qualified for the finals in York for the third consecutive year, following a competition at Upper Wharfedale School earlier in April.
The team was representing all the South Craven schools, following a qualifying tournament at South Craven School, Cross Hills, in March.
The ‘High Five’ netball rules were put into place in this stage, meaning that every child had to have a turn playing every position on the court.
The team consisted of captain Wilf Roberts, Max Hibbert, Anna Lodge, Alice Fisher, Kate Boumphrey, Natasha Baxter and Tui Brooks.
Interim headteacher Richard Hunt said: "The school has a long history of sporting success and I'm sure under the guidance of PE coordinator Clare Smurthwaite, they will continue to have many more future triumphs.”
