YOUNGSTERS at Hellifield Primary School were taken back in time – to Ancient Greece.
They played host to an Athenian lady and a Spartan warrior, who told them about their lives.
And the key stage two children came to school dressed in the traditional "chiton" and brought with them helmets, shields and even swords.
A school spokesman said: "Throughout the day, they looked at Ancient Greek artefacts, played authentic Greek games, performed drama and even took part in a democratic vote.
"This was all provided by Makers of History, who delivered a fantastic living history workshop for The Glorious Ancient Greeks."
