The A629 Keighley Road between Bradley and Cononley was closed for about 45 minutes after a tanker caught fire on Monday evening.
Fire crews from Skipton battled the blaze on the 44-ton wagon, which was carrying water, after the alarm was raised at 7.20pm.
Traffic had to be diverted up Ings Lane whilst the road was cleared. The A629 was down to one lane for about three hours after the incident, and was not fully re-opened until 10.15pm.
