Kelbrook is holding its first Scarecrow Trail this weekend.
The event will take place from 11am to 2pm on Saturday and Sunday.
Twenty-six scarecrows will be located throughout the village and the public are invited to see how many they can discover.
Mary Miller, secretary of Kelbrook and Sough Village Hall Committee, said the theme for the scarecrows was characters from children’s literature.
The trail starts at Kelbrook and Sough Village Hall and a prize will be awarded to the person who can find the scarecrows, solve the riddles and identify the mystery word. A voting slip will also be provided for people to vote for their favourite scarecrows.
Refreshments will available in the village hall and proceeds from the event will go towards the building’s upkeep.
“This is a follow-on from our annual duck race, a family event that is very popular in the village,” said Mrs Miller.
“The village hall was built in the 19th century and was originally used as a school. We’re keen to continue raising funds to keep the hall viable.”
