Beware stream that can trap wayward approach
| Otley Golf Club celebrated its centenary in 1996 and offers a good all-round golfing package. It is flat, pretty and invariably in good condition, and has built up a sound reputation as one of the most pleasant parkland courses in Yorkshire. Situated on the outskirts of the bustling market town of Otley, the course’s impressive backdrop is the magnificent wooded Chevin, which towers above the town. Otley has invested in its future, spending large sums on machinery, irrigation, drainage and course maintenance. Driving up to the clubhouse, there is a good practice facility available, and the course is laid out to provide two loops of nine, with the first generally reckoned to be the more difficult. |

Perhaps the best hole is the 8th, pictured, a par five which is guarded by a stream which runs in front of the green – its raised bank can capture anything mis-hit.
Otley has not neglected its clubhouse, and one of the centrepieces of its centenary celebrations was the refurbishment of the facilities.
The clubhouse is perched above the course, and its dining room and mixed lounge offer panoramic views over the action going on below.
There is also a more traditional ‘19th hole’ with snooker room offering real ale.
