(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS) FOOTPATH NO. 17 (PART), LONG PRESTON ORDER 2012 NO. 4 Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 – Section 14(1) (as amended)

Notice is hereby given that the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority has made an Order, the effect of which is to prohibit any pedestrian from proceeding along part of Footpath No. 17 in the Parish of Long Preston, in the district of Craven for a distance of approximately 8 metres from 17 December, 2012 until 3 June, 2013 inclusive. The closure will be put into effect when necessary by means of the erection of notices and signs. It is envisaged that the works will be undertaken within six months. The Order is necessary because works are being executed on or near the Footpath, namely significant concrete repair works required on parts of the main road bridge and parapet walls. The alternative route to be used during the closure period will be as follows:- From the point of closure at grid reference SD 8362 5791, in a north, north westerly direction along the pavement of the A65 towards Long Preston village for approximately 186 metres to the junction of the B6478 (Station Road). Turn south west along Station Road and continue for approximately 95 metres before turning south, south east onto Footpath No. 17, upon entering the field continue following the wall-side in an east, south easterly direction to the point of closure at grid reference SD 8361 5790 and return.
