YORKSHIRE DALES NATIONAL PARK AUTHORITY

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) (RESTRICTED BYWAY NO. 4 (part), HORTON-IN-RIBBLESDALE) ORDER 2013 No. 3
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 - Section 14(1) (as amended)
Notice is hereby given that the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority has made an Order, the effect of which is to prohibit any traffic from proceeding along part of Restricted Byway No. 4 from point of closure at Grid Reference SD 7880 8030 for approximately 100 metres to Grid Reference SD 7873 8036 in the parish of Horton-in-Ribblesdale, in the district of Craven from 8 April, 2013 until 23 September, 2013 inclusive.
The closure will be put into effect when necessary by means of the erection of notices and signs. It is envisaged that the works will be undertaken within six months. The Order is necessary because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Restricted Byway to replace the existing ford and footbridge with a new bridge and approach ramps.
The alternative route to be used during the closure period will be as follows:-From point of closure at SD 7880 8030 head east for approx. 1.4 km to the junction with the Ling Gill track, then bear south for approx. 4.1 km to High Birkwith Farm. Join the tarmac road and continue south for approx. 4.4 km to the junction with the B6479 in Horton-in-Ribblesdale. Follow the B6479 west, over the bridge, then north west for approx. 8.7 km to its junction with the B6255 at Ribblehead. Follow the B6255 east, north easterly for approx. 2.3 km to the junction with the Cam High road. Follow this road east, north easterly for approx. 240 metres to thepoint of closure at Grid Reference SD 7873 8036 and return.
