Proposal to change the provision made at Foremost School
1. To lower the age of admission from 11 to 9 years of age,

2. the school would become co-educational

3. boarding provision which is currently offered by the school would be discontinued.

Notice is given in accordance with section 19(1) of the Education and Inspections Act 2006 that North Yorkshire County Council intends to change the provision made at Foremost School, Menwith Hill Road, Darley, Harrogate, North Yorkshire, HG3 2RA from 8 October 2014 by
1. altering the age range of admission to the school from 11 to 9 years of age to accommodate up to 30 older key stage two pupils

2. by changing the provision of the school from single sex to co-educational

3. by discontinuing to offer boarding provision. Any required residential placements would be made within the County at Brompton Hall School or in exceptional circumstances independent special schools.

This notice is an extract from the complete proposals. Within four weeks from the date of publication of these proposals, any person may object to or make comments on the proposals by sending them to Corporate Director - Children and Young People's Service, North Yorkshire County Council, County Hall, Northallerton, DL7 8AE by 5pm on 11 September 2014.
