Horsehead Moor, Eastside and Hagg with Raisgill Wood, Buckden CL515
The National Trust has applied to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for consent under Section 38 of the Commons Act 2006 to carry out restricted works on Horsehead Moor, Eastside and Hagg and Raisgill Wood Common. The Planning Inspectorate will decide the application on behalf of the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.The proposed works are (1) temporary fencing on 7 areas of the Common (total area of 44.7ha) to allow for tree and shrub planting (2) temporary fencing of 1 area of 6.4 ha of the Common to allow for peatland restoration.The total length of proposed fencing is 8,780m.The fencing is temporary to allow stock control during the establishment of planted trees and shrubs and to allow for peatland vegetation restoration. The fences will be taken down and removed from the Common within 10 to 20years.A copy of the application form and accompanying documents showing the proposed works can be inspected at Grassington Library, 2 Garrs Lane, Grassington. BD23 5AT between 10am and 6pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 4pm on Saturdays, until the twelfth day of February 2016. A copy of the application form and accompanying documents may be obtained from the National Trust at the address below.
