YORKSHIRE DALES NATIONAL PARK AUTHORITY

YORKSHIRE DALES NATIONAL PARK AUTHORITY (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS) (FOOTPATH NO. 28 (PART), HORTON-IN-RIBBLESDALE), ORDER 2016 NO. 5 Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 - Section 14(1) (as amended)
Notice is hereby given that the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority has made an Order, the effect of which is to prohibit any pedestrian from proceeding along part of Footpath No. 28 from the point of closure at Grid Reference SD 8055 7083 for a distance of approximately 530 metres to the point of closure at Grid Reference SD 8065 7034 in the Parish of Horton-in-Ribblesdale, in the district of Craven from the 14 March, 2016 until 12 September, 2016 inclusive.
The closure will be put into effect when necessary by means of the erection of notices and signs. It is envisaged that the works will be undertaken within 6 months. The Order is necessary for reasons of public safety for the installation of cabling by Network Rail related to the construction of a rail siding at Arcow Quarry. The alternative route to be used during the closure period will be as follows:-From the point of closure, made by a separate Order connecting with the above closure, at GR SD 8070 7021 follow the footpath south west, then west south west for approx. 213 metres to the junction with the quarry access road at SD 8056 7010 turning east south easterly along this road for approx. 435 metres to where the Ribble Way heads under the railway bridge at SD 8097 6996. Follow the footpath north, north east then north, north west for approx. 1189 metres to the north side of Cragg Hill Farm at SD 8060 7098 bearing west, then south, south west through the farm yard continuing for approx. 157 metres to the railway crossing and point of closure at SD 8055 7083 and return.
