INDEPENDENT Bookshop Week from Saturday June 15 to Saturday, June 22, is a celebration of independent bookshops across the UK and Ireland and aims to highlight the vital role independent bookshops play in their communities and to encourage consumers to shop for their summer reads with their local independent.
There’s lots happening at the Stripey Badger bookshop in Grassington - ‘High Five’ National Book Tokens worth £5 to give away; a catalogue of summer books to browse, free bookmarks and two very special visitors.
On Sunday June 16, Father’s Day, Yorkshire Vet Julian Norton will be arriving to sign copies of his new book ‘Ruminations of a Vet’. Julian is hugely popular with TV viewers and it will be exciting to be able to meet him.
On Saturday, June 22 and June 23, The Gruffalo will be arriving to celebrate his 25th birthday. There will be lots of fun, stickers and badges, not to mention shaking the hand of The Gruffalo himself.
Independent Bookshop Week is an important time in our calendar and allows us to showcase all that we do. This will be a fun week for both adults and children and we are looking forward to celebrating both with the vet and the Gruffalo.
