MAY I congratulate the organisers of this year's Settle Flowerpot Festival. My favourite, perhaps biased, is Tom and Jerry located next the post box at the end of Townhead Avenue.
My sister from Market Harborough was so taken with the displays that after her visit I sent her a copy of Mike Harding’s excellent book on past years' offerings. With the bit as it were firmly between the teeth I have now photographed as many as I can this year's official list at around 170 plus many home made varieties. When I get turned round I shall put them on a disk for my sister and her family to enjoy at their leisure.
The trade the festival brings into town over six or seven weeks is enormous. Well done all concerned.
