SKIPTON:
Skipton Ladies Choir will give its summer recital on Saturday. Its “Summer Dream” performance can be heard at Skipton Baptist Church, on Otley Street, at 7.30pm.
Admission is £7 for adults and £5 for concessions.
* Craven Museum is hosting a soccer exhibition. Until September 27, visitors can enjoy football photographs and memorabilia dating back to 1909.
SETTLE:
Female camaraderie will be the focus of Victoria Hall’s next show. Girls’ Night is a comedy following five friends on a riotous, cocktail-fuelled karaoke night out.
The show – written by “Where the Heart Is” writer Louise Roche – will be staged on Saturday.
Family favourite Wind in the Willows will be brought to the Victoria Hall by the Ratatat Theatre Company on Thursday July 15. For tickets call the box office on 01729 825718.
* Settle Amateur Operatic Society is hosting a family evening of music and dancing with “the girls from Abba” next Saturday, July 10, at Settle College.
Tickets cost £5 (concessions for children) and there will be a bar and live entertainment from 7.30pm to 11.30pm. * The Linton Court Gallery, off Duke Street, is staging an exhibition of watercolour paintings by the late Norman Adams (1927-2005), an accomplished artist and Fellow of the Royal Academy.
* Paintings by three generations of women from a Malham family – Constance Pearson, Philippa Holmes and Katharine Holmes – are being exhibited at the Folly until July 27.
BOLTON ABBEY:
Broughton’s Kitty North has become “artist in residence” at the Devonshire Arms Hotel and an exhibition of her work is on display in the brasserie.
The exhibition comprises predominantly Wharfedale landscapes and will change to reflect the seasons.
The current selection of paintings will be on show until August 31 and can be viewed between 3pm and 6pm.
GIGGLESWICK:
The National Student Drama Festival Ensemble’s promenade production of The Wind in The Willows takes place around the grounds of Giggleswick School next Friday and Saturday, July 9 and 10.
It will feature a young and dynamic cast, selected from the festival at Scarborough earlier this year.
Performances take place at 7pm next Friday and at 3pm, 5pm and 7pm next Saturday. Tickets costing £5 are available from giggleswickschool.co.uk, by ringing 01729 893000 or emailing rwt@giggleswick.org.uk.
KIRKBY MALHAM:
Langcliffe Singers will give their summer concert at St Michael the Archangel Church on Saturday.
The mixed choir of 60 voices will perform a selection of anthems by Henry Purcell and Samuel Sebastian Wesley to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Wesley’s birth. The programme will also include John Rutter’s Birthday Madrigals.
The concert starts at 7.30pm and tickets costing £10 are available from Cave and Crag in Settle, Bentham Post Office or on the door.
GLUSBURN:
Brighouse and Rastrick Brass Band is to make a return visit to Malsis School on Saturday.
Twice winners of the World Championship, seven times National Champions and 2010 Yorkshire champions, the band will entertain pupils and the public at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £22, which includes a glass of bubbly and refreshments, and are available from admin@malsis.com or call 01535 633027.
GRASSINGTON:
Grass Roots Theatre will present “Grease, the School Musical” in the town hall next Friday and Saturday, July 9 and 10, from 7.30pm.
Everyone is invited to join the cast for a night of 1950s musical nostalgia, featuring well-loved songs from the era, as well as the timeless classics from the popular film.
Tickets are on sale at The Craft Shop in Grassington Square and cost £6 for adults and £3 for children under 16.
KILDWICK:
Ladies’ choir, Opus 44, will perform at St Andrew’s Church on Saturday. The chamber choir from Bingley will be in action from 7.30pm and tickets cost £8 (concessions £6 and under 12s free). They are available from Lesley Hudson on 01535 633887 or at the door.
KELBROOK:
The second Kelbrook Arts Market takes place on Saturday, with many established and emerging artists from the local area taking part. The market, which runs from 9.30am to 1pm in the village hall, will include an exhibition and sale of paintings, crafts, photography, woodturning, jewellery and textiles. Entry is £1.

SUTTON-IN-CRAVEN:
Sutton Amateurs are holding a read-through of this year’s panto, Alice in Wonderland, next Friday, July 9.
Anyone who would like to audition for a part should go along.
It will take place at 7.30pm in the rehearsal room (behind Londis Store on Main Street), ahead of the auditions on Friday July 30.
Auditions for the children’s chorus will be held on a different date.
SILSDEN:
A Proms on the Farm event on Saturday July 17 will raise funds for Manorlands hospice and the Silsden Methodist Church refurbishment project.
It will take place at Sycamore Farm in Brunthwaite and performers include Skelmanthorpe Brass Band, with Sarah Halstead as soloist, country and western singers Stewart Hanson and friends and the Nightflyers swing band. The event begins at 7pm but people can set up their chairs and gazebos from 2pm. Tickets are available, priced at £10, from Twiggs newsagent in Kirkgate, Silsden.
