TOSNEY Rita (nee Fennerty)

Grandma Tosney, you were much loved and respected by all who knew you. Some of my finest memories of childhood come from my time in Carleton with you and Grandad. I watched a strong woman manage her home with class and dignity much of the time. I know you lived through war and I can only imagine your strength and bravery during those times . You taught me to love fine china and fancy things, you taught me the balance between always being a lady and having a little fun., you taught me the importance of homemade rose scented perfume, you taught me generosity and to share with others, you taught me to be kind to animals, and you and grandad shared a love that was admirable to observe. You also taught me that a concerned Grandma would send her police officer husband to look for me if I was ten minutes past curfew in the tiny town of Carleton, still in broad daylight I might add. Grandma, I hope from Heaven you will be able to see how much you, as a strong matriarch , have added to future generations . Much love Grandma xoxo
