HARTLINGTON Press treated their summer writing competition winners to a good old fashioned afternoon tea followed by the presentation of prizes.
There were three age categories in the competition and the winners - Josephine Hoole (eight to 12 years), Joe Fraser Turner (13 to 17)
and Deborah Williamson (over 18s) - each received a Kindle Paperwhite.
Runners-up were awarded a £20 book token. They were Verity Clay, Caitlin James and Heather Sheldrake.
“The standard of entries was amazing,” said Penny Hart-Woods of Hartlington Press. “So much so that we are hoping to publish a collection of the stories. We would very much like to do this for charity and if there are any local organisations out there that would like some support we would love to hear from them.”
Since the launch of its first two novels in the summer, Hartlington Press has been delighted with the response from writers and is now working on several projects including a book and audio CD of Yorkshire Dialect poems by local writer and retired vet Roger Nelson and an audio CD of the works of performance poet Ray Snape, of Grassington.
