THE new Catholic Bishop of Leeds, the Right Rev Marcus Stock, officially opened the new nursery extension at St Stephen's School, Skipton.
Bishop Marcus was introduced to every year group and every class made a presentation to him, each of which was unique. The nursery had all joined in to make a cake.
The Bishop said how impressed he was by the children, particularly their courtesy and cheerfulness.
He led a short outdoor prayer before blessing the nursery extension. Many parents and parishioners were present.
Janet Sheehan, chairman of the governors, said: “It was a wonderful affirming afternoon, with our Bishop encouraging us as we progress out of special measures. St Stephen’s continues to make progress and we only have a few places left in the nursery for those who would like to come here."
