POLICE have appealed for witnesses to yesterday's fatal crash which killed two local men.
The two men died in a head-on crash on the A65 near Austwick yesterday.
The passenger of a black BMW car was confirmed dead at the scene and its driver died later in Lancaster Royal Infirmary.
A police spokesman said it was believed they were both local. Their names have not yet been released.
He said the BMW had been travelling on the A65 in the Skipton to Ingleton direction.
It collided with a blue Audi hatchback coming in the opposite direction and then hit a white Vauxhall van, which was also travelling towards Skipton.
Two men in the van were taken to hospital with minor injuries and the driver of the Audi was uninjured.
The accident occurred at 11.10am and the road was closed for several hours.
Police are appealing for witnesses who saw the crash or the vehicles prior to the incident to call TC Steve Beckwith on 01423 539326.
