A 93-YEAR-OLD woman was seriously injured in a crash on the A65 Draughton bypass yesterday.
She was driving a silver Honda Jazz car which was in collision with a purple-coloured Ford Fiesta at about 12.35pm.
The woman, from the Skipton area, was taken to Leeds General Infirmary by air ambulance with injuries described as critical.
The 64-year-old female driver of the Ford was taken to Airedale Hospital with less serious injuries.
The road was closed for about six hours while police conducted an investigation into the cause of the collision.
The Honda is believed to have been heading from Draughton towards the A59 and the Ford was travelling on the A65 from Skipton towards Ilkley.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision or anyone who saw either vehicle prior to the collision. Anyone who can help should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2 and ask for the Major Collision Investigation Team, quoting reference number 12150184859.
