SKIPTON Girls' High School has lifted the local trophy in the 2007 Young Enterprise competition.
The nine-strong team, called Todo un Poco, produced high quality handcrafted jewellery and was commended by the judging panel for its motivation, professionalism, enthusiasm and organisation.
Peter Craddock, a board member of Young Enterprise for Craven, said: "The standard of entries this year was exceptional and gave the judging panel a very difficult decision. All three teams managed to not only make a profit, but also paid back shareholders.
"If these young adults are anything to go by, it is clear that the future of Yorkshire business is in very strong hands."
The girls will now go forward to the North Yorkshire final in Harrogate on Wednesday.
The winner of this will progress to the Yorkshire and Humberside final in June and national and international events could then follow.
Founded in 1963, Young Enterprise runs a range of business and enterprise education programmes for more than 150,000 young people each year.
