MEMBERS of the Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association went to the aid a man who fell from rocks at a North Yorkshire beauty spot around lunchtime yesterday.
The 21-year-old suffered suspected back and pelvic injuries in the incident at Brimham Rocks.
A team spokesman said: “After assisting the paramedics in treating the patient, the team stretchered the casualty to a Yorkshire Air Ambulance helicopter.”
The rescue involved 10 volunteers from the Grassington-based team.
It was the second callout in two days.
On Thursday, the team was called out to assist the ambulance service with a 60-year-old man who had collapsed at Simon's Seat on Barden Fell.
A party was despatched to the incident, but the casualty had recovered sufficiently to be able to walk to the North West Air Ambulance just as the UWFRA team reached the scene.
