THE 80th birthday of Gargrave woman Hazel Johnson soared to new heights.
For not only did family members jet across the world to join in the celebrations, the occasion also raised £620 for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
Mrs Johnson threw a party at Skipton's LMS Club, but asked guests to make a charity donation rather than buy presents.
Now she has handed over a giant cheque to YAA fundraisers Carol and Graham Evans.
Mrs Johnson was born in Gargrave in 1927 and lives in the village with her second husband, Michael Johnson.
