DRIVERS and visitors in Pendle will soon be seeing improvements to the borough's old and tired boundary signs.
Pendle mayor and Barnoldswick councillor Allan Buck said: "We've been wanting to replace the old signs for some time.
"The job was put on hold until we heard from the Government about our bid to join forces with Burnley to create one council - because we didn't want to have to do the job twice. Now that we know that that the Government isn't putting us forward to become a new unitary council we can get this job started."
Coun Buck added: "I'm happy to say that the worn out sign on the A6068 coming into Pendle from North Yorkshire near Cowling will be the first to be replaced this summer.
"This one will be followed by other new and more attractive boundary signs around Pendle."
