THE second Skipton Festival of Transport has some new attractions for visitors this weekend.
The event, which takes place on Sunday, will see 150 classic vehicles exhibited on the High Street.
One new feature for the festival is a free historic bus service, provided by the Aire Valley Transport Group, to Bolton Abbey Station, allowing visitors to take a trip on the Embsay and Bolton Abbey Steam Railway.
Pennine Boat Trips is also linking in with the vehicle bonanza by offering canal boat trips.
Building on the success of last year's inaugural event, the day is being organised in conjunction with Craven Old Wheels Society and the Dales Historic Vehicle Club. Admission is free, but collections will be taken for three charities - Manorlands Hospice, the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Whitby Lifeboat.
Main organiser John Ogden, of Skipton, said: "We have had a tremendous response from classic vehicle owners with over 150 entries, which is well up on the 80 or so we got last year, so we must be doing something right."
The town's monthly farmers' market will be taking place on the canal basin at the same time, and Kevin Griffiths, Skipton's town crier, will be encouraging visitors to move between the two events. There is also the regular monthly craft fair in Skipton Town Hall.
The festival is open between 10am and 4pm, but the High Street will be closed to traffic between 8am and 5pm.
