AFTER the driest month ever recorded since our weather watcher, Allan Furness, started his readings in 1995, rainfall measures bounced back in May.
Mr Furness recorded 120.4 millimetres of rain in the month - 17 times more than April's total, which was a mere 7.4 millimetres. May 2007 was slightly drier than 12 months previously, but it was still the second wettest May since 1995. So far this year has been mar-ginally wetter than 2006.
