A ROUNDERS team has scored a hit with its fundraising for Manorlands.

The Cowling Ladies staged an end-of-season tournament, after being crowned league champions.

They competed against ten other teams at the village cricket ground.

The event – which also included a barbecue, bouncy castle, bar and raffle – raised £1,160 for the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice.

Hayley Ibbotson, a senior fundraiser at Manorlands, said: "We can't thank the ladies enough for thinking of us to benefit from the event and for helping us to continue providing incredible hospice care in the area, including Cowling.

"This was an incredible amount to raise in a single day.

"It costs £3.3 million a year to run the hospice and only part of that is covered by statutory funds, so the donation from the Cowling Ladies is very much needed and appreciated."
