A SKIPTON police officer was assaulted yesterday evening after responding to a call to suspicious behaviour in Nesfield, near Ilkley.
Police were called at around 8.30pm by a farmer who reported seeing a male pushing a motorbike.
With the help of the farmer, two males were arrested at the scene, during which one headbutted one of the officers.
Two other males ran off in the direction of Addingham where they were arrested later by West Yorkshire police.
A motorbike and a quad bike have been recovered by police.
Four men from the Bradford area are currently in custody, two in North Yorkshire, and two in West Yorkshire, pending further inquiries.
