SKIPTON Music’s 73rd season kicks off with a bang next month at Christ Church, Skipton, featuring exciting South African cellist Abel Selaocoe.
Winner of the 2018 Sir Karl Jenkins Music Award, Abel has a unique approach to programming and performance with his combination of classic repertoire - Bach, Britten - and his own jazz-inflected compositions.
This is definitely a concert not to be missed and promises to be one of the highlights of the season.
Skipton Music is always keen to welcome young people to their concerts, and is offering tickets for accompanied school students at just £1.
A society spokesperson said: “This is a wonderful opportunity to introduce the whole family to the world of classical music in a friendly, welcoming environment.”
The concert, at Christ Church, Keighley Road, Skipton will take place on Tuesday, October 1 at 7.30pm. Tickets £16.50, online at: skiptonmusic.org.uk or the Box Office: 01756 799912.
Skipton Music promotes a varied programme of six concerts between October and March each year. The concerts are always well attended and the standard is consistently high.
In November, the society is due to play host to The Barbican Quartet.
