YORKSHIRE’S first Green MEP Majid Majid paid a visit to Skipton.
Mr Majid said: “I really enjoyed meeting the voters of Skipton during the election campaign and didn’t want to be one of those people who gets elected and is never seen again. I really wanted to come back and talk more with voters. Despite the rain it was great to be back and to be listening to the interesting things people had to say.”
Cllr Andy Brown, Green Party member, said: “Majid is getting stuck in to working hard on behalf of our community. He really does believe in doing politics differently. There can’t be many people who arrived in this country as a refugee at the age of six and have achieved so much before they are 30. His capacity for hard work on behalf of those who placed their trust in him is exceptional and the Green Party is fortunate to have approachable and likeable politicians of his calibre.”
