AN inquest is due to open tomorrow, September 3, into the death of a Bradford teenager who drowned at a North Yorkshire beauty spot this summer.
Mohammed Bilal Zeb, 18, had only been married for a matter of weeks when he got into difficulties in the River Wharfe at Linton Falls, near Grassington, on July 31.
Emergency services were called to the scene at around 7.30pm where members of the public had attempted to save his life. A community support officer had performed CPR until paramedics arrived. Sadly he was pronounced dead at the scene.
In a sad twist, Mohammed's mother at the time was in intensive care in Manchester suffering from Covid-19 and was unaware of her son's death. She died two weeks later.
The inquest is to be opened at the council chamber, Northallerton, at 10am.
