A PIECE of artwork created by Alice Halstead-Rogers from Embsay is part of an virtual art gallery featuring the work of those living with a serious, or life-limiting illness.

It has been created by children’s charity, Rays of Sunshine, with the help of Moyosa Media, and aims to celebrate the bond between the charity and its beneficiaries while at the same time recognising the charity’s patrons and supporters.

Each person has depicted their own interpretation of the theme ‘sunshine, happiness and laughter’ and many of the pieces of art were created during group creative workshops with Rays of Sunshine.

Alice, 29, now an ambassador for Rays of Sunshine, suffers from Hirata’s Disease, an autoimmune insulin syndrome. In 2009, the charity granted her greatest wish to stay in London and watch The Lion King in the West End. Her artwork ‘Roar!’ is inspired by what the charity means to her and the unforgettable memories it created.
