POLICE in Skipton yesterday issued a fixed penalty notice to a biker for faults to a rear tyre and number plate.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "If you're getting the motorbike out of storage, please don't start the season like this rider.
"Fixed penalty notice and prohibition order issued by North Yorkshire Police Roads Policing Group officers in Skipton for a back tyre which was so badly worn the metal ply was exposed and a number plate that was bent so far back it was illegible.
"The prohibition order means the bike can't be used again until it's been fixed and officially checked."
