YOUNG farmer Alfie Throup proved a more than worthy helping hand when he assisted one of the family’s mule ewes give birth to quadruplets.

With coronavirus restrictions easing, and with so many newborn lambs about, it is vitally important that people follow the Countryside Code, make sure they leave gates as they find them, not stray off rights of way, and keep dogs on leads around livestock, and also to protect ground nesting birds.
