A SKIPTON driver has been banned from the road for a year after admitting drug driving.
Nicholas Heenan appeared at Skipton Magistrates’ Court charged with driving in Willow Way, Skipton, on January 10 this year with 2.9 microgrammes of cannabis in his blood.
He also had 57 microgrammes of cocaine in his blood which exceeded the specified limit.
Heenan, 28, of Burnside Avenue, was stopped by police at 12.45pm. Officers arrested him after a roadside drugs test showed a positive result. They said he appeared ‘agitated’.
Magistrates gave him two 12 month bans to run concurrently.
He was also given a fine of £140, costs of £85 and ordered to pay a surcharge of £34.
