THE ‘brilliantly unique’ Hut People, an old time musical show, circus fun and foreign film nights are all heading to Settle Victoria Hall next week.

English folk duo, Sam Pirt and Gary Hammond, will be performing in the hall’s Covid-safe outdoor gardens on Friday, July 30.

Mixing global rhythms with folk tunes from Quebec to Spain, Scandinavia to Sussex and everywhere in between, their music is a ‘quirky celebration of our rich musical heritage.

A spokesperson for Victoria Hall said: “This is a show like nothing you’ve ever seen before – expect feel-good dancing tunes, audience participation, step dancing, Quebecois foot-percussion - whilst playing the accordion - and humour aplenty.”

Sea shanty spectacular, Old Time Sailors, will also be performed outside on Saturday, July 31.

Old Time Sailors is a free musical show designed to take people back in time through an unforgettable trip to the 19th century.

The ‘crew ‘ of 17 musicians, play fully unplugged to ensure the most authentic experience, performing more than 30 songs and tunes to sing and dance to. Add to the mix, drunken sailors and a magnificent stage set, the audience can be forgiven for thinking they are inside a 19th century vessel.

Circus Day with Poppins Presents is a full day of family circus shows and activities outside in the refreshment gardens on Sunday August 1. The activities include stilt walking, flying aerialists, and plenty of games, and all are free.

For Seastorm in a Teacup, Hoglets Theatre has teamed up with Settle Community Library to bring this new play by Gemma Curry to Settle Victoria Hall, on Wednesday August 4. The tale about a mermaid who just can’t stop growing is aimed at three to seven year olds, and will be followed by a puppet making workshop.

The Ribblesdale Area Moving Picture Show (TRAMPS) foreign film nights return to Victoria Hall on Wednesday 4 August at with L’Heure d’Ete, starring Juliette Binoche and Charles Berling.

TRAMPS is a not-for-profit voluntary group that provides a high quality, low cost mobile cinema service to run film events at community venues, and runs at Victoria Hall on the first Wednesday of the month.
