THE Covid vaccination centre at Gateway House, Skipton, closed its doors on Tuesday after administering more than 80,0000 potentially life-saving vaccinations.
Run by the Wharfedale, Airedale Craven Alliance (WACA) GP Alliance, the centre, in the Computerserve offices in Gargrave Road, has been staffed by an army of vaccinators and volunteers helping to data input and steward patients to the car park and into the building in a Covid-safe way.
The vaccination programme started at Skipton Hospital in December last year, before moving to Gateway House in March when Computershare offered the building to WACA.
Hilary Moakes, clinical director of WACA thanked all the staff and volunteers at a farewell lunch, which included a special cake, saying:”Each and every one of you has helped to save lives through this programme and we cannot thank you enough”.
