SO the pressure group called Councils Against Noise and Speed (Craven Herald: New pressure group tackles nuisance 'Devil's Bridge triangle' bikers and motorists).
Yes they are right in some ways about complaining about speeders in cars and bikes. I have been to Devil's Bridge many times over the years as a biker and drive to Hawes being a driver on milk tankers. But can you tell me where were the complainers a few years ago when Top Gear's Jeremy Clarkson was telling people to come and drive over Buttertubs Pass in a fast Jaguar?
Then there was last year - Top Gear again with supercars driven by Chris Harris, Freddie Flintoff and last of all Paddy McGuinness who crashed near Ribblehead Viaduct in a Lamborghini Diablo.
Who welcomed them with open arms and said drive our roads in the Dales and then wonder why you have speeding cars and bikes? It is one rule for the rich and famous and to hang the rest of you. All these bikers and cars put money in the shops, cafes, chippys. Did Top Gear? It is watched by millions of people.
