FREE events to promote the benefits of getting active in the outdoors is being promoted by the Modality and Wharfedale Craven Alliance (WACA) .
The alliance will be ‘taking over’ park runs at three future events allowing regular volunteers a well-deserved break and raising awareness of local community initiatives.
The events start at 9am and are at Ilkley’s Riverside Gardens on November 21, at Cliffe Castle, Keighley on January 15 and at Aireville Park, Skipton, on March 19 .
Emma Taylor from WACA said: “Our GPs are part of the community and are really keen to promote the benefits of getting active in your community and park run is a great example of how you can run, walk or volunteer and get active and feel great at the same time.”
The minimum age for participants is four years and children under 11 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
The message from WACA is to encourage people to give their health and wellbeing ‘that kick it needs’ and in turn, making friends and having fun.
