A COWLING youngster is proving to be a potential future Olympic star in the discipline of karate after receiving his first dan certificate from the British Sport Karate Federation.
Eleven-year-old Luke Greenwood, who comes from Skipton originally and attends The Skipton Academy where he is in year 7, has been working hard on his karate skills at the Silsden-based NCAA (Newby’s Combat Arts Academy).
Luke has been honing his skills since the age of four and was thrilled to have completed his first dan grading and receive his certificate.
His skill at a young age saw him receive his black belt in the martial art at the age of just eight years.
Proud mum Katie Greenwood said Luke had worked incredibly hard and that he had every intention to represent Great Britain in the discipline at a future Olympic Games.
