YORKSHIRE Cat Rescue has won a festive financial boost thanks to nominations from the public.
The charity is one of 120 to receive a New Year gift of a £1,000 donation as part of specialist insurer Ecclesiastical’s fifth annual 12 days of giving Christmas campaign. Members of the public were invited to nominate a charity to win a share of £120,000. Yorkshire Cat Rescue was among the nominees and was drawn at random to receive the bonus.
The money will be used to take in more cats and kittens and contribute towards the start of the year's vet bills. The charity spent £106,862 on vet bills last year.
Nicola Willis, a fundraiser for Yorkshire Cat Rescue said: "Thank you so much to everyone who has taken the time out to vote for us. It really will make a difference and has given us a massive boost for the start of 2022.”
