IT'S not just the centenary of the BBC - the first Skipton Music Festival took place in 1922 and, with a couple of breaks caused by world wars and a global pandemic, it has run every year since.
This year, the festival takes place from Monday, March 7 to Sunday, March 13.
Known as the 'friendly festival' performances will take place at Christ Church, Skipton throughout the week featuring both children and adults, with the grand centenary gala concert on the last day.
The gala concert will take place at Skipton Town Hall at 7pm on March 13 and will be headlined by international saxophonist, Jess Gillam.
For details of the classes during the week visit : skiptonmusicfestival.co.uk.
Tickets to the gala concert are £5, thanks to funding from the Arts Council. Tickets from the box office, or from:skiptontownhall.co.uk
