SETTLE Musical Theatre will this weekend be presenting Dolly Parton's laugh out loud 'Nine to Five: The Musical' at the town's Victoria Hall.

After a two year break, because of the coronavirus pandemic, the society says it has enjoyed being back together, rehearsing lines, singing and dancing, and doing what it loves.

Director, Pat Harding, said: "Dolly Parton’s show is the perfect antidote to the post Covid blues; it’s laugh out loud funny, full of her trademark singalong songs with lyrics that are more clever every time you hear them.

"One of the things I found most pleasing as the director was the number of men coming along to audition; and many of whom could easily have taken the lead role of Franklin Hart. So a huge welcome to them; they’ve even worked really hard to perfect their 1970’s style dance moves."

The show will also include members of the junior section of the society, the Courthouse Kids Theatre group, including the youngest member of the cast, recently named Craven's young citizen of the year, Matilda Walden.

Nine to Five is at Settle Victoria Hall on Thursday, March 24; Friday, March 25 and Saturday, March 26 at 7.30pm with a 2.30pm matinee on Saturday.
