LONG Preston residents Catherine Stroh and Helen Monks raised over £2,200 when they organised a village event to raise funds for Ukraine.

The pair were supported by many local business and residents, including the Coniston Hotel, Cherry Tree accessories, Hair by Sarah, the Plough, the village shop and so many more. The raffle raised over £900, and sales of Ukraine-themed ‘fairies’ made £250. There were cake and craft sales stands and an Easter egg hunt. Thanks were given to everyone who attended and were so generous.

The women said they were pleased so many people supported such an important and urgent cause, and it was lovely to see the village coming together and demonstrating the strength of the community resolve to support those in need.
