A RUNNING course for beginners is being launched by Skipton Athletics Club, with the first run taking place in Aireville Park on Tuesday, May 17.
The Couch to 5k course is aimed at those who think running is 'scary' or would like some encouragement and support to get going, says the club.
Its also aimed at those who would like to improve their general fitness and to benefit from the mental health aspect of having a good run in the outdoors.
The free ten week plan for adults includes three sessions per week of walking and running, to slowly build up; one session per week with other beginners and a coach, and plenty of support from other beginners.
A spokesperson for Skipton AC said: "If taking up running seems scary, then Couch to 5K is for you."
Sessions will take place on Tuesdays at Aireville Park, Skipton, from 6.15pm to 7pm. For details, email: c25kskiptonac@gmail.com
