WHAT a super nostalgic photo this is of Skipton badminton players who played for their club at Bellevue Mills.
The picture, dated 1973/1974, is of the mixed team which had much success playing in the Craven League. They are pictured with the League Cup.
The photo has been loaned to us by Fran Lofthouse, one of the victorious players seated second from the right in the front row.
The old venue is now council offices but badminton is still played at Sandylands Sports Centre. Fran still plays the sport every Friday morning at Sandylands.
The players on the photograph are: back row left to right - David Whalley, Howard Proctor, Trevor Howson, Harry Field, John Pilkington, Doris Lee, and Ken Patchett.
The front row shows, from the left: Marjorie Spencer, Beryl Taylor, Doris Sharman, Fran Lofthouse and Gwen Hay.
