FELL rescue were called to help after a man overturned his wheelchair while visiting Fewston Reservoir, between Skipton and Harrogate, and ended up at the bottom of a steep bank, trapping him underneath.
Fortunately, the man was not badly injured, and was able to make his way back to his car following the incident on Wednesday.
A spokesperson for the Grassington based Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association (UWFRA) said: "The team were called to assist a gentleman who had overturned his wheelchair on a footpath round Fewston Reservoir.
"The wheelchair had tumbled down a steep bank and trapped the gentleman, who was not seriously injured. The team were able to recover both the casualty and the wheelchair and were delighted that he was able to make his way safely back to his car and make the homeward journey unassisted."
It was the 26th call out for the team so far this year
